Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Manager at Prophix Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, delivering product demonstrations, and collaborating with the marketing and solution consultants to convert prospects into long-term clients.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in B2B software sales, preferably within CPM, EPM, ERP, BI, or FP&A solutions
  • Academic or practical knowledge of Accounting and/or Financial concepts (e.g. planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, and group reporting)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in an engaging way and Fluent in English
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technology, its benefits, and how it can be leveraged to achieve business goals & objectives
  • Able to clearly articulate concepts and business benefits to technical and non-technical audiences
What You Will Do
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets and verticals
  • Conduct discovery calls, product presentations, and solution demonstrations
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from lead generation to contract negotiation and close
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools
  • Collaborate closely with marketing on campaigns, events, and lead generation activitiesStay informed about market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in the CPM and FP&A space; Assist Prophix’ sales, business development and marketing teams as the subject matter expert for Prophix’ Corporate Performance Management (CPM) solution
  • Lead discussions in the areas of Corporate Performance Management (CPM), Financial Consolidations, Budgeting, Planning, Forecasting (FP&A). Use market and technical knowledge to consult on best practices and provide direction to customers / prospects on how they can achieve their goals & objectives with Prophix’ software and services
  • Create and deliver powerful, customized presentations and demonstrations, proof of concepts that highlight how our product can solve a prospects’ specific business challenges
  • Communicate customer’s business and technical requirements to our Professional Services team to ensure a smooth transition to post-sales
  • Bring customer facing perspective to internal teams and convey feedback to product management, product marketing and research & development teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with BI tools, EPM / CPM solutions and/or data warehousing is an asset
  • Natural presenter with great interpersonal skills and comfortable in the spotlight
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel is a plus
  • Able to gather and understand business requirements, current challenges and propose solutions
  • You have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy researching and uncovering solutions to problems
