Business Development Manager – Power Generation / Genset Solutions
We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead sales and growth initiatives in the Power Generation and Genset (Diesel/Gas/Hybrid) segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across key markets and customer segments.
This role requires a strong technical understanding of generator sets and power solutions, combined with exceptional commercial and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth in the genset and power generation sector.
- Identify and pursue new customers, partners, and market segments (industrial, commercial, construction, telecom, data centers, oil & gas, etc.).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, consultants, OEMs, and end-users.
- Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals, tenders, and presentations.
- Collaborate with the engineering and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely project execution.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to order closure.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and insights to senior management.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of proven experience in sales or business development within the Power Generation / Genset industry.
- Strong understanding of diesel and gas generator sets, hybrid power systems, and related electrical systems (switchgear, synchronization, control panels, etc.).
- Established network of contacts within target industries and regions.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office Suite, and sales reporting systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with leading genset OEMs (Cummins, Perkins, CAT, MTU, FG Wilson, etc.) or authorized dealers.
- Familiarity with renewable and hybrid power solutions.
- Technical sales background or experience in project-based solution selling.
- Multilingual communication skills are an advantage.
