A leading engineering and project consultancy firm in Malaysia is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and pursue opportunities in EPCC and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in Engineering or Business Administration, along with 5-10 years of business development experience in the energy sector. Responsibilities include conducting market research, preparing proposals, and enhancing the corporate brand. This role requires strong relationship management skills and strategic planning capabilities.
1. Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in EPCC, power substation, and infrastructure projects (HV, EHV, transmission, and distribution systems).
Conduct market research to assess client needs, competitors, and emerging trends in the energy and construction sectors.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective projects and clients.
Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals in coordination with engineering and estimation teams.
Represent the company in tenders, bids, and negotiations with clients and consultants.
2. Corporate Image & Client Relations
Enhance the company’s corporate profile and brand visibility in the market through strategic communication and public relations initiatives.
Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders — clients, government agencies, consultants, and vendors.
Organize and participate in industry events, exhibitions, and corporate presentations to reinforce the company’s professional image.
Ensure all marketing and communication materials (brochures, presentations, digital content) align with the corporate brand and values.
3. Strategic Planning & Coordination
Support management in defining business growth strategies aligned with company goals.
Collaborate with internal departments (Engineering, Projects, Finance, Legal) for bid preparation, contract review, and project initiation.
Monitor ongoing projects to ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.
Prepare periodic reports on market trends, competitor analysis, and business development performance.
4. Corporate Communication & Reporting
Draft and review corporate communication materials, company profiles, and media releases.
Ensure timely submission of proposals, prequalification documents, and client updates.
Maintain CRM database of clients, tenders, and leads for management review.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Civil / Mechanical) or Business Administration.
MBA or equivalent qualification in Marketing / Strategy (preferred).
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in business development, preferably in EPCC, power substation, or utility infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of EPC project cycles, tendering processes, and client management in the energy sector.
