The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and service expansion for Bagan Specialist Centre. The role focuses on strengthening referral networks, insurance/TPA relationships, corporate partnerships, and community engagement, while supporting marketing initiatives aligned with the hospital’s clinical strengths and long‑term growth plans.

Bagan Specialist Centre is a 153‑bed tertiary care hospital dedicated to providing high‑quality, affordable healthcare to the people of Butterworth and surrounding regions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Revenue Growth
    • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities including corporate clients, insurance panels, TPAs, GPs, and institutional partners.
    • Strengthen and expand referral networks with general practitioners, clinics and allied health providers.
    • Support the development and expansion of clinical services, specialty centers, diagnostic services, and procedure‑based packages.
    • Initiate and manage corporate health screening programmes, wellness initiatives, and occupational health partnerships.
    • Monitor business performance and referral trends to ensure achievement of revenue, volume, and growth targets.
  • Insurance, TPA & Corporate Engagement
    • Manage relationships with insurance companies, TPAs, and corporate accounts to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
    • Support contract negotiations, panel renewals, service scope discussions, and promotional collaborations.
    • Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with insurer requirements, billing workflows, and service standards.
    • Act as the key liaison for resolving operational or commercial issues with corporate and insurance partners.
    • Plan and execute hospital marketing strategies to promote consultants, clinical services, health packages, and hospital events.
    • Coordinate hospital participation in health talks, exhibitions, community events, and outreach programmes.
    • Review marketing effectiveness using measurable KPIs such as leads, conversions, referrals, and ROI.
    • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify service gaps, pricing trends, and emerging healthcare demands.
    • Prepare business proposals, feasibility studies, ROI analysis, and justification papers for new services or investments.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management to support strategic planning and decision‑making.
  • Cross‑Departmental Coordination & Reporting
    • Work closely with Clinical, Finance, Operations, Nursing, IT, HR, and Corporate Communications teams to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and management updates on business development and marketing performance.
    • Support budget planning, tracking, and cost control for business development and marketing activities.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial marketing experience, preferably in healthcare, service, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
