Job summary

A leading FMCG company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Business Development / Key Account Manager. The role involves managing relationships with distributors and clients, developing market penetration strategies, and generating sales leads. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in Business Administration or Marketing and 3–5 years of relevant FMCG experience. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required. This position may require travel.

Business Development / Key Account Manager / Sales Manager (FMCG)
  • Act as the primary contact point for all distributors, key accounts, retailers, and corporate clients.
  • Identify and onboard new distributors, retailers, and corporate clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships across all identified channels.
Management of Business Growth
  • Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets (local and international).
  • Drive brand strategies to increase product awareness and market presence.
  • Generate sales leads, negotiate contracts, and secure promotional agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Negotiate listings, shelf space, promotions, and pricing with key retailers.
  • Coordinate promotional campaigns, sampling, in-store branding, and seasonal activations. Manage trade agreements, merchandising standards, and POSM (point-of-sale materials) deployment.
  • Research industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Forecasting & Supply Chain Coordination
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure product availability and efficient distribution.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and pipeline updates for management review.
Data & Insights
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, prospects, and market intelligence.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, forecasts, and customer data for reporting and compliance.
Compliance & Ad-hoc Duties
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines in all sales activities.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments or duties as required by management.
Job Requirements

Education: Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry.

Skills: Strong negotiation, sales, and relationship management skills. Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and analytical skills. Proven track record in driving sales growth.

Languages: Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Attributes: Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and able to work independently. Willingness to travel as required.
