Job Description: Provide data extraction, validation, and reporting support for financial, operational, and commercial analysis. The position will handle recurring and structured analytical tasks currently performed in Australia, with clear procedures and defined deliverables.

About You:

You are an analytical and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in finance, accounting, or business analysis. You have experience either from a public accounting practice—such as audit, business services, or tax—or from medium to large corporations. You are comfortable working with financial, operational, and workforce data, and can extract, clean, and validate information to produce accurate and insightful reports.

You are proficient in Excel and able to learn new tools and systems quickly. While experience with SQL, VBA, or other data analysis tools is advantageous, it is not essential. You are capable of working independently on structured tasks, but also enjoy collaborating with colleagues to understand trends, variances, and operational drivers.

You communicate clearly and confidently in English, both in writing and verbally, and are keen to develop your ability to interpret numbers and provide first-pass commentary on financial and operational results. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated to support business decisions through reliable, accurate, and timely analysis.

This role is flagged for growth: the right candidate will take on more senior and interesting work over time, with the potential to lead a team in the future.

As an analyst, your responsibilities will include:

Collect, clean, and check data from finance, operations, and workforce systems.

Create and maintain datasets to analyse costs, revenue, and work volumes.

Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on:

cost centre spending vs budget or contracts

revenue by test type, region, and price

test volumes, procurement costs, and staff expenses

Spot and report any errors or unusual data.

Keep performance metrics files up to date and aligned with source systems.

Prepare reports showing differences from previous periods, budgets, or forecasts.

Update forecasting models with new data and check results for accuracy.

Extract and format data for special projects, procurement, or workforce analysis.

Record data sources, calculations, and assumptions clearly.

Deliver accurate reports on time to Australian stakeholders.

Join meetings to help explain:

reasons for changes in costs, revenue, or profit

trends in market or test volumes

Learn to interpret numbers and gradually write basic commentary.
