Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
We are looking for a Telco BSS Charging & Billing Specialist to support our charging, billing, and core network-related activities. The role involves day-to-day configuration, troubleshooting, integration support, and assisting with new product and feature rollouts across the BSS/charging ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Support and configure Online Charging System (OCS) and Billing platforms.
- Handle day-to-day operational tasks: charging configurations, subscriber provisioning checks, and rating validations.
- Troubleshoot charging, billing, and usage-related issues across prepaid/postpaid flows.
- Work with Core Network teams (e.g., PCRF/PCF, HLR/HSS/UDM, IMS, GGSN/PGW/SMF) for integration and end-to-end service testing.
- Support new product launches, tariff changes, and system enhancements.
- Assist in change requests, regression testing, and production deployment activities.
- Analyse logs, traces, and usage records to resolve service-impacting issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of incidents.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in Telco BSS, Charging, or Billing systems.
- Familiarity with Online Charging (OCS/OCF) and mediation or billing workflows.
- Basic understanding of Core Network elements and interfaces (Gy, Gx, Diameter, SIP, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in end‑to‑end mobile data, voice, and SMS flows.
- Ability to interpret logs, traces, and usage records.
- Good communication and coordination skills with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with cloud‑based charging/billing or containerised deployments.
- Knowledge of SQL, scripting, or basic automation for analysis.
