Job summary

SD Guthrie International (SDGI) seeks a qualified Steam Boiler Operator to support daily boiler operations at the Port Klang Installation. You will monitor high-risk equipment, participate in preventive maintenance schedules, and liaise with DOSH during inspections, ensuring compliance and safety.

You will also manage permits to work, coordinate with the operations team, supervise contract workers, and help minimize downtime across PKI and SIMIT facilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold SPM with relevant boiler operation knowledge.
• Experience with fired and unfired pressure vessels.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance plans for boilers.
• Basic first aid knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bulking Manager/Executive on daily operational activities at Port Klang Installation (PKI).
• Monitor high risk equipment such as fired and unfired pressure vessels during heating and handling palm oil products.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly and yearly preventive maintenance for boilers at PKI.
• Liaise with DOSH during inspections and present findings to management.
• Issue and monitor Permits To Work for external vendors during maintenance at PKI and SIMIT.
• Coordinate with operation team on high-risk equipment such as air compressors at PKI and SIMIT.
• Supervise storage tank cleaning and machinery before, during, and after maintenance.
• Supervise daily activities of contract workers and minimize downtime.
