Position Overview
>The Boarding House Executive is a live-in role responsible for the day-to-day care, supervision, and well‑being of students residing in the boarding facility. The role ensures a safe, structured, and nurturing environment in line with the institution’s standards. As a resident staff member, the Executive plays a key role in fostering a positive boarding community and acting as a trusted adult presence for students.

Key Responsibilities
Student Welfare & Supervision
- Oversee students' daily routines, including wake‑up, meal times, study hours, recreation, curfew, and bedtime.
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and discipline to promote holistic student development.
- Monitor the general well‑being and personal hygiene of students, referring any concerns to medical or counselling staff as appropriate.
Boarding House Operations
- Ensure the boarding facility is clean, safe, and well‑maintained at all times.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for any facility‑related issues.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of student attendance, movements, and leave permissions.
- Uphold and enforce boarding house rules, maintaining a respectful and disciplined environment.
- Act as a first responder in emergencies and report incidents following institutional protocols.
- Ensure student safety and adhere to safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
- Maintain regular and open communication with parents or guardians regarding their child’s boarding life and any relevant updates.
- Support boarding orientation programs and act as a mentor to new students.
- Collaborate with academic and support staff to address students’ personal, academic, and social needs.
Activities & Engagement
- Organize and supervise recreational, cultural, and wellness activities for boarders.
- Encourage student participation and community building through inclusive initiatives.
- Foster a warm, homelike atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
Health & Emergency Support
- Provide basic first aid and ensure students access medical support when necessary.
- Maintain and regularly update student health and emergency contact records.
- Assist in coordinating medical appointments and escorting students if required.
Additional Responsibilities
- The Boarding House Executive is expected to perform additional duties as assigned by the Boarding House Manager or institutional leadership to support boarding operations.
- As a live‑in staff member, the role requires flexibility in working hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays, based on the boarding house schedule and student needs.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with youth or in residential settings preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certified (or willingness to obtain).
- Training in safeguarding or child protection is an advantage.
- Live‑in role with accommodation provided within the boarding facility.
- Highly interactive, with continuous student engagement and rotating shifts.
- Must be available for emergencies and overnight supervision as part of rostered duty.
