Job description

When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means.

Join our team as a Bellman, where you will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring their arrival and departure experiences are seamless and memorable. This role is ideal for individuals with excellent customer service skills, a friendly attitude, and a passion for hospitality. Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring their needs are met with respect and attention.
  • Stand at designated areas in the lobby and outside the hotel entrance, providing assistance and greeting guests.
  • Transport guest luggage from arrival to their assigned room, handle room changes, and assist with departure luggage to the designated point.
  • Correctly tag, store, and retrieve luggage from the holding area and ensure safe handling.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about the hotel facilities, services, and features.
  • Retrieve luggage from guest rooms for departing guests.
  • Familiarize guests with the nearest fire exit and explain safety features of their assigned room.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of scheduled hotel functions and direct guests to the appropriate locations within the property.
  • Provide recommendations and accurate information about local attractions and activities to enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure the assigned areas, including the lobby and entrance, are clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, accuracy, and speed while maintaining a cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport luggage and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Adherence to hotel health and safety guidelines and protocols.
