What you will do
  • Provide active technical leadership within base stocks supporting ExxonMobil manufacturing opportunities
  • Improve base stocks technical capabilities by mentoring, reviewing technical work, developing and delivering technical training
  • Evaluate, develop, and deploy base stocks technologies to deliver value to the business
  • Provide process engineering technical leadership to support ExxonMobil manufacturing sites, optimization and troubleshooting during abnormal operation
  • Function as process technology technical lead for capital project development from screening studies to unit startup
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of grassroots or revamped facilities
  • Lead or provide guidance on process modelling development, sustainment and development
  • Collaborate with 3rd parties to develop, design, manufacture, test and deploy new technologies
Skills and Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Refining Industry
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in base stocks manufacturing for the downstream oil refining industry, preferably Group II base stocks (distillation, catalytic processes including dewaxing, and deasphalting technology experience)
  • Proficiency in the following areas of base stocks manufacturing
    • Unit operation, troubleshooting and optimization
    • Process Modelling
    • Base stocks properties and characteristics
    • Project development from early screening studies, through lead case selection, detailed engineering, and unit startup and commissioning
    • New technology evaluation, development, and deployment
    • Turnaround support, including reactor inspection and startup
  • Able to demonstrate the following
    • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, especially in multi‑cultural global team
    • Strategic thinking and ability to develop creative, fit‑for‑purpose solutions to resolve operational problems
    • Ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results with no or minimal direct authority
    • Willingness to travel internationally as needed (about 20% of time)
