KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Setup
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, and glassware according to event layout.
- Ensure all setup meets event specifications and Theme Park and Hotel standards.
- Prepare buffets, stations, and service areas before event start.
Guest Service
- Greet guests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Serve food and beverages during events following proper service sequence.
- Refill water, clear plates, and attend to guest needs promptly.
- Assist with special requests in a polite and efficient manner.
Event Operations
- Support banquet captains and supervisors during event execution.
- Follow instructions on timing, service style, and event flow.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas throughout the event.
Event Breakdown
- Clear tables, remove linens, and reset equipment after the event.
- Return all equipment to the correct storage area.
- Ensure the banquet venue is clean, tidy, and ready for the next event.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues, kitchen team, and supervisors for smooth operations.
- Report any issues, shortages, or challenges immediately to the leader.
- Maintain positive communication and cooperation with all departments.
Standards & Safety
- Follow hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards at all times.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and safe handling procedures.
- Comply with all hotel policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Minimum Diploma/Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism, Hotel Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in assisting or managing banquet events.
- Energetic, dynamic, and proficient in writing and communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Competence in vernacular languages such as Mandarin and Tamil would be an added advantage.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Possess a good interpersonal skill while interacting with guests, patrons, and employees.
- Able to work under a minimal supervision and able to produce maximum productivity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
- Candidate must be willing to work during weekends and public holidays to support the operational needs as and when required.
- Applicants must be willing to work at SUNWAY LOST WORLD WATER PARK, SUNWAY CITY, IPOH, PERAK.
