Job summary

A local bakery in Malaysia is looking for a dedicated individual to manage customer service and ensure the quality of baked goods. Responsibilities include weighing and packaging items, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness. Candidates should have at least an SPM certificate and previous experience in a bakery is preferred. Proficiency in Malay and English, or Mandarin is required to communicate with clients effectively. This position requires a flexible schedule, including work during evenings and holidays.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Weighing, pricing, and packaging purchased items, as well as processing payments.
• Managing the baking ingredients inventory and requesting the purchase of stock.
• Tracking ingredient expiry dates and arranging their use accordingly.
• Monitoring the visual appeal and the availability of baked goods on display.
• Reporting low baked goods stock to the Baker in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy baked goods counter and performing other duties on request.
• Cleaning the kitchen after business hours and preparing it for the next day.
• Managing customer complaints and relaying them to the Baker.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Requirements

• Minimum SPM certificate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in serving customers in a bakery environment preferred.
• Proficiency in weighing, pricing, packaging, and processing payments of baked goods.
• Knowledge of food and health industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
