About The Job

Sekolah Sri UCSI Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated and passionate Bahasa Melayu Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching the Malay language and culture, developing students’ language proficiency, and creating an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes communication, creativity, and appreciation of Malay heritage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver interactive and engaging Bahasa Melayu lessons that enhance students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Incorporate cultural elements into lessons to broaden students’ understanding and appreciation of Malay traditions, literature, and heritage.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods—including discussions, storytelling, multimedia, games, and hands‑on activities—to engage students effectively.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
  • Encourage active participation and communication in Bahasa Melayu to strengthen students’ fluency and confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress and achievements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Organise and participate in school events, language competitions, cultural celebrations, and other co‑curricular activities related to Bahasa Melayu.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Bahasa Melayu, Malay Studies, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, Diploma in Education, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in a school setting.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum or other international programmes is an advantage.
  • Passionate about language education and committed to engaging and inspiring students.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English (spoken and written).
