Job summary

UpGrowth HR Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a PHP developer to design, build, and maintain web applications using PHP and related technologies.

You will write high-quality code, troubleshoot issues, and test applications while collaborating with front-end and mobile teams to deliver integrated solutions. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 1+ year PHP experience, and strong skills in PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS/JS, Laravel, and Git, plus knowledge of web security and English/ Mandarin

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on PHP web development experience.
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Strong knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks, especially Laravel.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Commitment to coding standards and clean, well-documented code.
• Knowledge of web security practices and session management, including XSS protection.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, build, and maintain custom web-based applications using PHP and related technologies.

• Develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code. Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and testing of applications.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end or mobile app developers.

• Consistently report work progress and challenges to the team leader. Propose initiatives and implement solutions to enhance existing projects, improve workflows, and optimize performance.

• Maintain high software quality standards within the team. Establish and enforce best practices and coding habits.

• Engage in standby duty on a rotating weekly schedule, remaining accessible for support during non-business hours.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends. Apply new knowledge to enhance project development processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Science & Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in PHP web development.

• Proficiency in PHP, MYSQL, and fundamental web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.).

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with PHP MVC frameworks, especially Laravel.

• Experience with code versioning control systems such as Git.

• Strong passion for adhering to coding standards and maintaining clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Adequate knowledge of web security practices, including session management and protection against XSS attacks.

• Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required.
