Job summary

EPAM Systems in Malaysia is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to build scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse. You will leverage SQL and Python to transform complex datasets, design analytics-ready data models, and orchestrate automated workflows.

You will partner with business teams to deliver high-quality reporting solutions and mentor junior engineers while applying best practices across development, testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience building ETL/ELT solutions including ingestion and transformation.
• Proficient in SQL for transformation, validation and performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse for data integration.
• Proficient in Python for data processing and automation.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and Lakehouse concepts.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines with Azure services.
• Design data models to support analytics and reporting use cases.
• Transform, validate and analyze large datasets using SQL and Python.
• Orchestrate workflows and monitor pipelines for reliability.
• Create technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
