A leading open-source software provider is seeking an Automation Architect in Kuala Lumpur. You will lead automation strategies, engage with clients, and inspire teams while driving successful implementations. The ideal candidate has strong consultative skills, significant experience in cloud environments, and a passion for open-source technology. This role supports innovation in enterprise solutions while embracing a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
We are seeking an elite automation expert to be the strategic force multiplier for Red Hat’s most complex customer engagements. As an Automation Architect, you will be the definitive authority our customers turn to, designing and executing large‑scale automation strategies that underpin their entire business transformation.
Join our team of expert consultants specializing in open hybrid cloud, platform modernization, and automation, including AIOps. You’ll work in agile teams with customers, creating, testing, and iterating on prototypes for business impact.
You will architect and lead engagements utilizing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, integrating deeply with container platforms like Red Hat OpenShift. You are a hands‑on consultant, skilled in strategic roadmapping, complex workflow design, and mentoring client teams on major automation projects.
This role is ideal for architects who can work across automation, infrastructure, and modern AI‑enabling platforms like Red Hat OpenShift AI. If you’re passionate about open source, building solutions that scale, and shaping the future of how enterprises innovate — this is your opportunity.
Consult & Influence: Deliver high‑impact discovery, analysis, and design workshops for senior stakeholders (technical and business), shaping their strategic vision and translating business goals into technical reality.
Drive Consultative Sales: Act as the technical expert during the sales cycle, owning the solution architecture, supporting presales workshops, and building compelling, value‑driven proposals. Proactively identify new opportunities for customer success within active engagements.
Design and implement modern platform architectures with a strong understanding of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and automation at scale.
Deliver successful discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non‑technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions.
Collaborate with customer teams to co‑deploy automation platforms and to co‑create Ansible content.
Remain hands‑on with development and implementation — especially in prototyping, MVP creation, and agile iterative delivery.
Present strategic roadmaps and architectural visions to customer stakeholders, from engineers to executives.
Support technical presales efforts, workshops, and proofs of concept, bringing in business context and value‑first thinking.
Create reusable reference architectures, best practices, and delivery models, and mentor others in applying them.
Contribute to the development of standard consulting offerings, frameworks, and capability playbooks.
A background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain.
4+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role.
2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
Strong background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software company.
Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives.
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including experience communicating with and presenting to senior management
Proven track record supporting solution sales throughout the delivery lifecycle by identifying and proposing solutions to improve the client experience including training, consulting, account management and products.
The ability to self‑study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
Passion for Open Source, software, tooling, and automation.
Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and how they can be applied within an organization.
Thorough working knowledge and hands‑on experience with Ansible, as well as high‑level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space.
Intermediate level scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and business audiences
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
Experience implementing a CI/CD pipeline.
Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, RHEV, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).
Container management and orchestration tools.
Experience across one or more vertical industry areas preferred.
Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC.
Experience working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is preferred.
Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud/hypervisor) and operating system level
Engagement in open source communities or contributor background
