Audit Assistant, CADeT Assurance (Open to Diploma & Degree Graduates)

The Centralised Audit Delivery Team (“CADeT”) has been established within the EY Assurance practice in Malaysia to provide quality support to our client-serving audit teams.

CADeT will focus on enabling quality audit through centralizing and executing standard and recurring audit procedures by using innovative and digital audit tools to support the lead audit teams serving the Assurance engagements.

The opportunities

As part of EY Malaysia’s Assurance CADeT team, you will work on various audit engagements in different industry sectors in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader, specifically: financial services, energy and utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc. The role of a CADeT Assistant is to carry out routine substantive and controls-based procedures to support the various client serving assurance teams to sharpen the efficiency of the audit execution process.

Your key responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest quality on every task assigned in line with EY Global review methodology and the expectations of the lead audit engagement teams.

This would typically include: –

  • Contribute to the delivery of processes, solutions and/or projects, by executing standardised solutions and centralised audit procedures in lower risk/less complex areas
  • Perform test of details on various population related to the financial statements
  • Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives, audit client's engagement history, and planned audit approach
  • Analyze, summarize and communicate findings which may include applying digital and technical expertise to provide support and value to lead audit engagement teams and clients
  • Meet performance objectives and local engagement metrics to support client service delivery, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development and teaming.
  • Prepare and present engagement progress or updates, results and analysis to EY Assurance teams or stakeholders.
  • To contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism towards work challenges and to develop knowledge on the use of EY technology and tools, to engage in continuous learning, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

To qualify for the role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Diploma in Accounting with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
  • For Degree holders, minimum CGPA of 2.5 and above
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
