Job summary

Standard Chartered in Malaysia is seeking a Trade Settlements professional to manage settlements transactions, report trade status, and ensure all trades are sent to the market with accurate updates in the system.

You will verify funds and holdings before settlements, correct failed trades with the right reasons, and follow contractual settlement processes while upholding the bank's standards of ethics, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate with 6+ years of relevant work experience in trade settlements and mutual fund investment management.
• Exposure to regional/domestic settlements operations and SWIFT tagging.
• Hands-on experience with settlement systems such as Clearstream/Euroclear/BBH/BNY will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of settlement markets and SWIFT message formatting; familiarity with related products is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process settlements transactions and report trade status.
• Ensure that all trades sent to the market are transmitted and status updated in the system.
• Check funds and holdings prior to settlements.
• Update failed trades with correct reasons.
• Adhere to contractual settlements processing and maintain procedures.

Trade Settlement:

• Processing of Settlements transactions, Reporting of Trade Status,
• Ensuring that all the trades that ought to have been sent to the market have actually been sent and the status updated in System.
• Checking of Funds and Holdings prior to settlements
• In case of Failed trades, the same have been updated with the correct reasons
• Contractual Settlements processing
• Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.
• To ensure all control/operating procedure and documentations are properly followed.
• To ensure compliance to all established procedures, regulations and the Group Guidelines.
• To keep track of changes (internal and external) affecting Clients and communicate such changes, along with impact analyses, on a pro‑active basis, through newsflashes, market insights, operations guides and through other routine communication.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate with 6+ years of relevant work experience in the following areas:
• Trade Settlements and Mutual Fund Investment Management
• Exposure to Regional / Domestic Settlements operations, SWIFT Tags.
• Hands on experience in handling systems such as Clearstream / Euroclear / BBH/BNY will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of various settlement markets and swift message formatting
• Knowledge of allied products like corporate actions, Fund services and reference data will be an added advantage
