Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our Global Payments Services team as an Associate, Global Payment Services, reporting to the Associate Director, Global Payment Services.

The Global Payment Services team is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all payments with MUFG Investor Services globally. The team has a presence in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Limassol, Dublin, Halifax and Toronto and work together to manage client payments on a global basis.

You will be part of a small but growing team located across three regions with responsibility for supporting the operational processes for a new payments line of business. The team you will be part of have specific responsibility for managing payment exceptions, working with other internal teams and clients to investigate and resolve payment exceptions, in addition to providing client servicing for our payment and treasury products.

Key responsibilities
Functional responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve payment exceptions in line with SLAs
  • Work with clients to resolve payment exceptions, and manage callback process for new beneficiaries
  • Ensure that critical issues are escalated in a timely manner to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of client payments.
  • Work with internal teams, such as Treasury, Banking Operations and Client Operations to ensure that all deliverables are met.
  • Provide exceptional client service to both internal and external clients
  • Build strong relationships with clients
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and security of payment processes, and participate in a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Participate in workstreams related to payment system upgrades, process improvements and new product launches
  • Ensure that procedures are up to date, and in line with firm standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new systems and processes related to payments.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of payment processing experience, preferably within a global banking environment.
  • Working knowledge of international payment processes, including clearing and settlement mechanisms.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for payment processing (e.g. AML, KYC).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, with intermediate-advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of global payment processes, and familiarity with payment systems and online banking platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Swift and ISO Payment processing, including payment formatting.
