Job description

We are seeking a Data Engineer (Junior / Associate) to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of data integration pipelines. This role is ideal for candidates with 2–3 years of experience who are eager to grow their technical skills in ETL, databases, and data warehousing while working under guidance within a collaborative team.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

2–3 years of experience in ETL development, data integration, or data engineering. Fresh graduate is welcome to apply.

Working knowledge of ETL tools such as Talend, AWS Glue, or similar ETL platforms.

Good understanding and hands‑on experience with database queries (SQL, including DDL and DML).

Basic to intermediate knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including star/snowflake schemas and dimensional modelling.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse) is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Fast learner, able to work independently with guidance and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Good communication skills in English and Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking).

Strong interest in Data Analytics and Data Science; programming knowledge or experience is a plus.

Role & Responsibilities

Analyse, design, and build ETL jobs for small to medium‑scale projects, with guidance from senior team members.

Maintain and optimize existing data pipelines to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and database administrators to understand data requirements and deliver timely solutions.

Develop and execute SQL queries and perform basic data analysis.

Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality.

Prepare and maintain ETL documentation, including design specifications and data flow diagrams.

Support and monitor ETL/ELT jobs, assist in troubleshooting, and implement improvements where applicable.

Assist in data governance and compliance initiatives to support proper data management practices.

Communicate effectively in English and Chinese, including writing technical documentation and participating in discussions with Chinese‑speaking teams.

Work closely with other teams to deliver BI solutions to business users.

Contribute to team best practices and support junior team members when required.
