Job summary

Cundall is expanding its Building Services team in Kuala Lumpur and seeks an Electrical Engineering technical expert to join as Associate/Associate Director. You will lead project delivery, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and maintain strong client relationships across data centres, hospitality, and commercial sectors.

You are a Chartered/Professional Engineer with a degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering and solid experience in low energy design and design software.

Qualifications

• Chartered/Professional Engineer status, with degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Data centre field experience is preferred.
• Board of Engineers Malaysia Practicing certificate is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of low energy design and relevant design software.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and teams.
• Excellent communication and project management skills; regional/international experience an advantage.

Cundall have been working on various projects in Malaysia from our offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia so this is the natural progression for the business, building on long standing relationships and offering the same high standard of multidisciplinary design and consultancy services.

Our Malaysia office will enhance our regional presence in Asia, taking on exciting projects locally while also collaborating closely with our regional offices to provide seamless support.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Technical expert and lead to join our pioneer team in Malaysia.

As part of the Senior Team and under our Partner/Director, the Associate/Associate Director will take responsibility for the operational delivery of projects, the management of project teams, the management of client relationships and the line management of teams as well as to play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative design solutions for some of the exciting building projects in the region.

Working across a variety of sectors such as Data Centres, Hotel and Hospitality, Commercial and Retail, you will manage and control financial aspects of projects and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects.

You will be an expert in Electrical Engineering Design and generally knowledgeable across the Built Environment sector. You will also be part of a global skills community for sharing knowledge, projects and your specific expertise.

You will develop new and nurture existing outstanding client relationships and ensure repeat business as well as use your wealth of expertise and determination to manage, motivate and lead our group of multi-disciplinary engineers.

The Skills

A Chartered/Professional Engineer, educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, you have gained vast experience within a building services context. Ideally you will have vast experience in a data centre field. Having achieved the Board of Engineers Malaysia’s Practicing certificate will be a plus.

You also possess a strong understanding of low energy design and have proven your technical expertise in the relevant design software.In your most recent position, you would have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and teams to deliver to, and exceed client expectations, and crucially you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication and project management skills are essential. Regional or international experience would be an added advantage.
