A leading property and sustainability firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Sustainability Manager to establish governance frameworks and integrate sustainability into corporate strategy. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years in sustainability strategy and ESG governance, alongside expertise in stakeholder engagement and data analysis. Responsibilities include spearheading Net Zero Carbon initiatives and managing sustainability reporting. This role offers an opportunity to drive impactful change and foster sustainable practices within the organization.
Establish and strengthen sustainability governance structures through the development of a Sustainability Governance Framework aligned with GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB, and UN SDGs while managing ESG compliance, reporting, and serving as the Secretariat for the Group Sustainability Steering Committee (GSSC) and Board-level Committee.
Integrate sustainability into corporate strategy and decision‑making by driving cross‑functional alignment across investment planning, enterprise risk management and ESG performance tracking.
Support the development and implementation of Net Zero Carbon and Carbon Credit strategies, including baseline assessments, regulatory mapping and strategic partnership exploration.
Develop and implement Integrated Sustainable Lifestyle (ISL) frameworks tailored to residential, commercial and mixed‑use environments, embedding circular economy principles, low‑carbon design, behavioral levers, and other sustainability elements.
Lead organization‑wide ISL adoption by embedding ISL into product development, placemaking, tenant engagement, community outreach and internal operations while fostering sustainable culture and behaviors across divisions/departments.
Evaluate financial viability of ISL initiatives through cost‑benefit analysis, payback period assessments and ROI modeling of green technologies, solar PV and circular asset strategies to guide capital allocation.
Champion internal capability building and cross‑sector collaboration by co‑creating impactful sustainability programs with regulators, NGOs, academia, and internal stakeholders to accelerate adoption and innovation.
Manage sustainability data governance and digital platforms to ensure integrity, traceability and analytics for sustainability performance, including the use of AI and automation for enhanced reporting and decision‑making.
Advance sustainability reporting and disclosure in line with Bursa Malaysia, GRI, ISSB and TCFD standards, ensuring timely, accurate and impactful communication of sustainability performance.
Embed future‑ready sustainability practices by integrating double materiality, biodiversity considerations, climate resilience planning, nature‑based solutions, sustainable procurement, green financing and alignment with national sustainability agenda.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Real Estate, Business, Sustainability, Corporate Governance, or related field. Master's Degree or relevant sustainability certification (e.g., GRI, ISSP, SASB, or CFA ESG) preferred.
Minimum 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in sustainability strategy, ESG governance, project management.
Deep knowledge of ESG standards, global sustainability frameworks and integrated reporting.
Expertise in stakeholder engagement, change management and behavioral design.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills related to ESG metrics and performance tracking.
Excellent communication, negotiation and facilitation skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
Strategic thinking with a system‑level perspective and resilience in ambiguous environments.
