Responsibilities
- Coach and guide subordinates in terms of operational processes, skills and technical know-how to improve staff productivity and maintain consistency in operational support and delivery.
- Promote accountability and transparency, fostering a sound compliance culture that reinforces ethical, prudent and professional behaviour.
- Maintain key control aspects of operations to ensure compliance with corporate requirements and risk mitigation, thereby reducing fraud losses/write‑offs and adjustments.
- Timely reporting of potential or actual breaches to the respective departments and branches.
- Address actual or suspected breaches of regulatory requirements or internal policies in a timely and appropriate manner.
Operations & Controls
- Effectively manage transaction processing and department activities, ensuring tasks are completed within the expected timeframe and operations comply with operating procedures.
- Manage end‑to‑end daily transaction processing and/or authorization of operational actions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with internal controls/policies to mitigate material operational risks that may result in operational failure or fraudulent activity.
- Provide day‑to‑day support and advice in the department for transactional activities.
- Resolve routine/day‑to‑day issues and provide support to branches regarding customer enquiries, investigations and problem solving.
- Manage defect and/or complaint management processes.
- Perform timely reconciliations, issue resolution and submit management/regulatory reporting as required.
- Maintain a healthy and highly motivated team while encouraging teamwork.
- Work closely with other operations teams to resolve exceptions or queries.
- Proactively share new ideas and concepts to improve operations processes.
- Review operating procedures and maintain processes.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Management from time to time.
- Cover duties of staff members in the department in their absence.
- Support bank activities interrupted by an emergency/crisis.
