Assistant Vice President, Commercial Credit Underwriting - Group Credit
Responsibilities
  • Approving of credit proposals within the delegated approving authority
  • Ensure compliance of credit policies, risk acceptance criteria, credit underwriting standards, BNM requirement and any other relevant regulatory/governance.
  • Provide independent and prudent credit evaluation.
  • Manage underwriting activities of the team to meet turnaround time (TAT).
  • Managing the continuous flow of information and feedback to Business Unit and credit underwriter on appropriateness of lending situations, packaging of facilities, advising on skill gaps, timely reviews and credit decisions based on latest approved cases by relevant approving authority.
  • Execute/encourage team work, open communication/feedback, coaching and mentoring.
  • Facilitate necessary training (if necessary) for related credit areas.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years credit underwriting, preferably in commercial banking
  • With sound credit analytical skill.
  • Matured and result orientated
  • Knowledge on effective management methodologies and strategies.
  • Strong business sense and competitive awareness as well as sensitivity to business issues in relation to credit proposals.
  • Fully understand the internal/external guidelines.
  • Degree or professional qualification such as CCP IBBM or any related discipline.
