Cheng & Co Taxation in Penang seeks a senior tax professional to oversee corporate tax compliance and planning for clients in Malaysia. You will lead tax returns, audits, and advisory projects, ensuring accuracy and timely filings.
The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting or Finance, professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW) and at least 5 years of experience in tax, with strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and proficiency in tax software and MS Office.
Possess degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and corporate tax management.
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
Strong accounting skills and experience in financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
Proven ability to manage tax audits and resolve tax-related issues.
Experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns for corporate clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Manage and oversee the company's tax function, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations in Malaysia.
Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Provide guidance and support to the team on tax-related matters, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, and sales and service tax (SST).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws and regulations, and assess the impact on the company's tax position.
Liaise with tax authorities, such as the IRBM, on tax audits, inquiries, and appeals, representing the company's interests effectively.
Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure their professional development.
