An educational institution is seeking a Security Operations Lead to ensure a safe and secure environment on campus and at boarding facilities. Responsibilities include overseeing security operations, managing personnel, and handling incidents. Candidates should have 5-8 years of security experience, with a strong emphasis on leadership and integrity. This role is crucial for maintaining safety standards and responding to emergencies effectively.
Responsible to lead and oversee all security operations for the school campus and boarding facilities, ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times.
Supervise, deploy, and manage both in-house security personnel and outsourced security service providers across school and boarding areas.
Liaise closely with outsourced security vendors on manpower deployment, attendance, performance issues, and replacements.
Enforce school and boarding security policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards, including after‑school and overnight security coverage, preserve peace and good order in the school environment.
Oversee access control, visitor management, and vehicle movement for students, staff, parents, visitors, and contractors.
Responsible for the management of student and staff ID cards, access tags, and related records in coordination with IT, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
Respond to, investigate, and report all security incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns, including boarding‑related incidents.
Prepare duty rosters, incident reports, and operational updates for Management.
Lead emergency preparedness, drills, and crisis response for both school and boarding operations.
Plan and co‑ordinate security operations for specific events.
Co‑ordinate staff when responding to emergencies (i.e. accident, disaster) and alarms (fire).
Attend meetings with other HODs to determine overall school operational needs.
Analyse data or observation to form proposals for improvements (ie. implementation of new technology on security related areas).
Controlling budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.
Minimum (5-8 years of experience in security operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience leading security teams, and incident‑handling skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage professionally with Department Heads, staff, students, parents, and external service providers.
Demonstrates high standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct at all times.
Able to manage confidential matters discreetly and responsibly.
Strong sense of accountability with a track record of consistent and reliable conduct.
No adverse disciplinary or misconduct record; good employment and conduct history is essential.
Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and access control systems.
Experience in a school or boarding environment is an added advantage.
