Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of The Silver Monkey and Workstar, the two restaurants at Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park. This role oversees breakfast operations, staff scheduling, daily restaurant activities, events, and promotions, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and consistently high standards of food quality and service.
Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of The Silver Monkey and Workstar, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
- Ensure that all restaurant activities are consistent with established operational standards and procedures.
- Monitor and manage the restaurant’s financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
Guest Experience
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and addressing any guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards for food, beverage, and service.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for both guests and staff.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage and efficient operations.
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
Menu Planning and Management
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menus that reflect the restaurant’s concept and guest preferences.
- Monitor and manage food and beverage inventory to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Marketing and Promotion
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain guests.
- Coordinate with the marketing department to create promotional materials and campaigns.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare and submit reports on restaurant performance, including sales, expenses, and inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, performance, and payroll information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or similar role in a hotel or upscale dining establishment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health standards.
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
