Wintech Metal Processing Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Powder Coating to oversee the daily operations of our powder coating line. This role is critical to maintaining the high-quality standards of our metal-fabricated products and ensuring efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of powder coating processes, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the powder coating line to ensure timely and efficient production.

Monitor production schedules, quality standards, and output to meet customer and company requirements.

Optimize the utilization of resources, including materials, equipment, and manpower, to achieve maximum efficiency.

Quality Assurance

Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.

Conduct regular inspections of coated products for finish, thickness, adhesion, and color consistency.

Utilize problem-solving and analytical skills to address and resolve quality issues, ensuring consistent good quality of products.

Collaborate with the Quality Department to develop and implement quality initiatives to powder coating.

Identify gap for quality improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Process Improvement

Analyze production data to identify areas for process optimization and waste reduction.

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the powder coating process.

Stay updated on the latest powder coating technologies and best practices to improve line performance.

Maintenance, Environmental and Safety

Oversee maintenance of machineries and powder coating equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Ensure accurate calibration of powder coating equipment and effective laboratory oversight.

Monitor the safe handling and storage of coating materials, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Promote and enforce a safe working environment, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.

To hold ultimate accountability in compliance to ISO 14001 & ISO45001 ’s requirement as well as other relevant Environmental, Safety & Health regulation and relevant ESG framework/ regulatory requirement.

Supervise and manage a team of coating operators, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the department.

Resolve staffing and operational issues to maintain smooth workflow.

Maintenance operational excellence and drives a positive work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a powder coating environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong understanding of powder coating processes, equipment, and materials.

Skills:

Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
