What role you will play in the team

The role plays a significant part in shaping the clinical operations support hub in Malaysia which is tasked with supporting a growing portfolio of global locations. The role acts as primary or secondary leadership interface to senior business line and safety leaders in other countries (e.g. Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa & Middle East) and within ExxonMobil Malaysia. The role collaborates closely with the Malaysia Operations Support Hub Occupational Health Manager and Global Occupational Health Managers to ensure operational excellence across a wide multi‑region portfolio. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

What you will do

• Works within the Malaysia team in providing and coordinating the delivery of occupational health services to the Corporation’s businesses across multiple time zones and geographically diverse locations. Supports the full spectrum of occupational health services for clients in areas of health surveillance, travel health, fitness for duty and entry to oil and gas field operating and manufacturing sites, incident and workplace injury/illness management, emergency response, return to work, office ergonomics, expatriate and dependent support, alcohol and drug testing, medical absence and disability case management.
• Fosters functional interaction with relevant stakeholders/business lines as well as 3rd party engagements as appropriate.
• Supports implementation of operational integrity management systems and controls integrity as required.
• Acts as a leader and key resource in growing the Malaysia hub, including exploring and developing capabilities in support of global occupational health programs and common systems.
• Provides guidance and subject matter expertise in core areas such as oversight of fundamental guidance references, clinical processes, tools and standards, data management, analysis and reporting as well as other value‑added activities.
• Participates in periodic reviews of corporate occupational health processes and procedures to assess effectiveness, efficiency and long‑term cost competitiveness, as well as to identify and implement enhancement opportunities.
• Assists in conceptual reviews and detecting prospects for innovation, scalability and proximity to industry standards.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong clinical skills and broad experience in various medical disciplines, including at least five years of experience within occupational medicine. Highly articulate with excellent command of written and spoken English. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and/or cross‑functional team, including assuming delegated leadership responsibilities as and when required. Time flexibility and capacity to work within a global time zone environment, while appreciating the 24/7 nature of this industry. Ability to discern business client priorities and respond via consistent and reliable implementation of established centralized systems and processes across workforces and businesses in varied cultural, geographic and economic landscapes. An understanding of telehealth or familiarity with supporting cases remotely.
• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and Full Registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) with valid current annual practising license. Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health / Occupational Medicine.
• An understanding of ISO standards, HSE management systems, Audits, fitness to work standards, implementation of alcohol and drug testing.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience

• 10 – 15 years of work experience, inclusive of direct clinical and leadership/management experience.
• Prior experience in corporate or high‑risk industry setting (e.g. oil & gas, heavy industry, construction).
