Join a leading plantation & property development company as an Assistant Manager Tax in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role focuses on managing tax compliance, planning, and advisory functions to support the organization's financial objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee tax compliance processes, including the preparation, analysis, and finalization of tax computations and tax returns for submission to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
  • Manage and update capital allowance schedules for the group to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Support quarterly and year‑end tax processes by preparing current tax and deferred tax computations, as well as effective tax rate reconciliations for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare tax computations for budgets, mid‑year budgets, and forecasts while reviewing sales tax and service tax submissions, including imported service tax, for compliance with Customs requirements.
  • Advise finance teams on sales and service tax matters, ensuring adherence to exemption conditions and providing support during Customs audits or verifications.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc tax research on withheld tax, tax incentives, e‑invoicing, SST/Service Tax updates, and other relevant tax matters to ensure informed decision‑making.
  • Assist in tax field audits for the group by attending meetings, reviewing documentation, and coordinating required information.
  • Analyze and compile agreements and supporting documents for related‑party transactions for transfer pricing purposes, ensuring TP documentation remains contemporaneous and compliant.
  • Prepare and compile information required for Real Property Gains Tax and Capital Gains Tax submissions, and support stamp duty readiness processes for the Group.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance & Accounting, ACCA/MICPA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience.
  • Prior usage of the SAP system will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Possess good time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self‑starter, driven and committed.
