Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Manager in Research Development located in Simpang Ampat for Generic Vision Business Division. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for :

• Managing research projects and delivery.
• Lead and participate in developing machine vision algorithms for inspection and measurement.
• Manage a team of engineers and interns.
• Integrate vision systems with automation hardware (PLCs, motion systems, robots).
• Troubleshoot and fine-tune system performance in lab and at customer sites.
• Explore new technologies such as AI-based image analysis and 3D vision.
• Develop new features using SDLC and code review with team members.
• Ensure all R&D projects meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
• The role also involves communicating findings and collaborating with other departments to support overall business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in machine vision or image processing R&D.
• At least 2 year in a management or team lead position.
• Experience in developing projects using C++, Python, or C#.
• Experience with image processing libraries such as OpenCV, Halcon, Cognex, Matrox, etc.
• Knowledge of lighting, optics, and industrial camera systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to perform under tight project deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Prior experience in automation and machine vision solutions is a plus.
