Job description

The assistant manager of optics infrastructure development will be executing the Optical Network Transformation strategy set by the HOD. The individual will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the planned solution by the transformation department and aligned with organizational goals.

Candidates with interest and experience in procurement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Costing Evaluation: Work with HOD to review all regional dark fibre project costing and identify cost reduction opportunities to improve project delivery efficiency.
• Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate the current project purchasing strategy and propose improvements to the purchasing process with cost down and better performance.
• Cross Department Collaboration: Provide necessary project progress materials, organize weekly calls & monthly strategy reports to share with cross department stakeholders.
• Cross subsidiary engagement: Assist in formulating engagement plans with subsidiaries to obtain reliable project input for monthly reports to be reviewed by HOD.
• Work with the Global Network Trading department to interface, approach, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing and costing.
• Maintain effective business relationships with project suppliers and establish long-term cooperative relationships.
• Collect and analyze supplier information, study sales records, and inventory levels of current projects to develop strategic purchasing programs for viable decision-making.
• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts/orders with suppliers and other representatives.
• Organize and attend regular meetings with prospective vendors, suppliers, and customers to perform buying and negotiation duties.
• Assist your HOD in organizing meetings, trade shows, conferences, conventions, and seminars to network with other purchasing departments.
• Manage medium to complex projects under the supervision of HOD.
