Assistant Manager, New Business Development

Primary Job Responsibilities and Activities
- Proactively support and assist new business development and investment‑related activities under the direction of the Deputy Head/Department Head, while demonstrating a high level of ownership and initiative.
- Contribute to the identification and analysis of new business and investment opportunities through industry research, partner sourcing, and opportunity assessment.
- Conduct market and industry research, primarily focused on the retail sector but not limited to it, applying fundamental marketing frameworks such as STP (Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning) to analyse market dynamics and identify potential opportunities.
- Build relationship with prospective partners and early‑stage customers, while gradually taking on a more direct and independent role in external engagement.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s capabilities, value proposition, and long‑term vision, and accurately represent these to partners and customers.
- As experience and capability grow, increasingly take responsibility for planning, coordinating, and driving individual projects, with the expectation of becoming an independent project manager in the near future.
Qualifications, Experience & Key Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; candidates from other disciplines with relevant experience in business development, strategy, consulting or market analysis are welcome.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in the retail industry, including but not limited to healthcare, food, and related sectors.
- Proven experience leading or managing small teams or projects (3–5 members).
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Proactive, self‑driven, and eager to learn, with the resilience to manage pressure and the humility to grow through feedback.
