To support the senior captive manager in the day-to-day operations and administration of the captive core & cell.
Ensure smooth operations, compliance with regulations, and effective client service while also involving leadership and development of junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Assist with the daily management of the captive operations and workflow.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring adherence to the policies and regulations set by the LFSA.
- Financial Administration: Supporting financial management tasks, such as assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, coordinating with auditors and actuaries, and managing premium processing.
- Policy and Claims Management: Helping with the full lifecycle of insurance policies, including administration, renewals, documentation, and coordinating with claims adjusters or third‑party administrators (TPAs) to ensure timely and fair claim handling.
- Risk Management Assistance: Supporting the identification and analysis of risks, proposing risk reduction strategies, and ensuring the implementation of sound risk management practices.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serving as a point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external service providers (like brokers, reinsurers) to ensure alignment and high‑quality service delivery.
- Team Leadership and Development: Training, guiding, and monitoring the performance of junior staff, providing feedback, and fostering a productive team environment.
- Reporting: Preparing and analyzing various reports on department performance, claims data, and operational activities for review by senior management and the board of directors.
- Process Improvement: Identifying gaps in current processes and collaborating with other teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Professional Qualification in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in general insurance or captive insurance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team and across departments.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Familiar with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and insurance best practices.
- Willingness to adapt, take initiative, and support continuous process improvement.
