Job summary

A leading bakery company in Malaysia is looking for an Assistant Manager in Industrial Relations (IR). The successful candidate will manage all IR/ER related tasks such as handling disciplinary matters, conducting inquiries, and providing guidance on IR matters to ensure compliance. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Human Resource and a minimum of 4-5 years of work experience in IR, as well as fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 - 5 years of work experience in Industrial Relations.
  • Well versed in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.
  • Possess skills and knowledge in handling IR matters.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full spectrum of IR/ER related tasks in disciplinary matters.
  • Conduct investigations and written show cause sessions.
  • Conduct Domestic Inquiry sessions.
  • Provide advice on IR-related matters for compliance.
  • Analyse employee attendance to observe disciplinary issues.
  • Assist IR Manager with cases referred to Labour Court.
  • Handle documentation related to hostel agreements.

Skills

Job description
Assistant Manager - Industrial Relations (IR)

Handle full spectrum of IR/ER related tasks in disciplinary matters, counselling, grievances handling, labour disputes and termination/dismissal for several bakery plants;

Conduct investigations and written show cause sessions;

Conduct Domestic Inquiry sessions;

Perform other administrative functions;

Provide advice and guidelines on IR-related matters to all levels of employees to ensure compliance with the Company’s policy, rules and regulations;

Analyse employee attendance to observe disciplinary issues i.e. absenteeism/late coming/fraud;

Assist IR Manager with cases referred to the Labour Department/Labour Court and Industrial Relations Department/Industrial Court;

Handle documentation and matters related to hostel agreements;

Handle issues related to Medical Leaves and Panel Clinic matters;

Other assignments/job functions assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Degree in Human Resource or any related field

Minimum 4 - 5 years of work experience in Industrial Relations

Well versed in English and Bahasa Malaysia both written and spoken

Possess skills and knowledge in handling IR matters
