A financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a governance officer to support the implementation and improvement of governance policies. Responsibilities include executing reviews, ensuring compliance with laws, and maintaining governance documentation. The ideal candidate will act as a contact for policy and compliance matters and assist in regulatory updates. This role requires strong coordination skills and the ability to liaise with different departments. Competitive salary is available based on expectations.
Support the Head of Department in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Group and subsidiary governance policies and procedures.
Execute governance reviews and coordination activities to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations and best practices.
Act as an operational governance contact point for subsidiaries and internal stakeholders on policy, authority and compliance matters.
Support Group level governance compliance with regulatory requirements issued by Bank Negara Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia and other relevant authorities.
Assist in the drafting, review and updating of governance policies, authority matrices and frameworks across the Group and subsidiaries.
Support governance advisory work on delegation of authority, approval parameters and policy application, escalating issues to the Head of Department where required.
Track regulatory and governance updates (BNM, Bursa Malaysia, Companies Commission, ISO standards, etc.) and assist in coordinating updates to governance documentation.
Prepare, coordinate and track governance related submissions for board and committee approvals, including policies, declarations and supporting papers.
Liaise with risk management, compliance and business units to ensure governance documentation aligns with internal controls and regulatory expectations.
Maintain governance documentation repositories, including version control, review schedules and status tracking for Group and subsidiary policies.
Support internal, external and ISO audits by coordinating documentation, responses and monitoring corrective action progress.
Assist in ensuring consistent application of Group governance principles across subsidiaries, escalating deviations or gaps to the Head of Department.
