JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager – Freighter Operations is responsible for overseeing cost control, vendor compliance, and operational support for freighter aircraft operations. This role manages invoice verification for maintenance, ground handling, crew logistics, and fuel uplift while resolving technical and financial discrepancies with MROs and operational partners. The position ensures that all cost drivers are monitored, justified, and aligned with contractual obligations and operational efficiency targets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cost Oversight & Control
    • Monitor and analyze costs related to freighter operations (maintenance, ground handling, crew travel, fuel uplift).
    • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support initiatives that drive operational efficiency.
    • Track and manage maintenance costs in line with budget allocations and forecasts.
  • Invoice Verification
    • Review, verify, and approve invoices from MROs, ground handlers, crew accommodation providers, and fuel suppliers.
    • Work with Finance and Procurement to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely processing.
    • Maintain accurate records for audit and reconciliation.
  • Maintenance & MRO Liaison
    • Act as the primary contact for maintenance vendors on cost and billing matters.
    • Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance teams to validate the accuracy and necessity of billed services.
    • Resolve technical and commercial disputes with MROs.
  • Ground Handling & Crew Coordination (Cost‑Focused)
    • Monitor contracts and invoices for ground handling, parking, towing, and crew accommodation.
    • Ensure operational costs remain within approved budgets.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Develop and maintain reports or dashboards tracking operational cost KPIs.
    • Provide periodic cost analysis with insights for management decision‑making.
    • Support budgeting and forecasting by supplying historical cost and variance data.
  • Contract & Compliance Management
    • Ensure operational activities adhere to SLAs, contract terms, and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in contract reviews and renewals by providing input on cost and performance clauses.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Finance, Logistics, or related fields.
  • Aircraft maintenance license/certificate is an advantage.
  • MBA is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3–5 years in airline or cargo operations, preferably with exposure to cost control, vendor management, and maintenance operations.
  • Experience handling MRO contracts, invoices, or disputes is highly preferred.
SKILLS
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Understanding of aviation maintenance, MRO processes, and cargo ground handling.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, ERP systems, AMOS, and invoice management tools.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
