Job summary

Ambition is seeking an Assistant Manager - FP&A for a multinational retail group based in Petaling Jaya. You will partner with operations and business functions, driving budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting across multiple sites.

The role demands 5+ years in FP&A or related finance, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to present insights to senior stakeholders. Retail experience is a plus; you will influence pricing, promotions and capital decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years in FP&A, management accounting, or commercial finance.
• Retail industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical ability with the confidence to present insights to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Produce monthly management reports and variance analysis.
• Monitor outlets performance against KPIs and sales growth.
• Build financial models and business cases for new openings and CAPEX.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pricing and promotions.
• Improve reporting processes using Excel, Power BI and ERP tools.

Our client, a multinational retail group, based in Petaling Jaya, is seeking an Assistant Manager - FP&A to join their team. This is a high-visibility role at the heart of the business, where your analysis directly shapes commercial decisions. You'll partner closely with operations and business functions, gaining broad exposure across budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and financial modelling in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll be the go-to finance partner for business performance insight. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Producing monthly management reports and variance analysis across actuals, budget, and prior year.
• Monitoring retail outlets performance against key KPIs and sales growth.
• Building financial models and business cases for new openings, relocations, refurbishments, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support pricing, promotions, and commercial decisions.
• Driving reporting process improvements through Excel, Power BI, and ERP tools.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Possess Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or professionally qualified accountant ie. ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in FP&A, management accounting, or commercial finance experience.
• Experience in the retail industry is highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems; Power BI knowledge is advantageous
• Strong analytical ability with the confidence to present insights to senior stakeholders
