Prudential Services Asia in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Manager to lead Finance Operations across Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Intercompany, Fixed Asset, and Lease Accounting in a high-volume shared services environment.

The Assistant Manager, Finance Operations supports the day-to-day transactional and operational finance services, ensuring accurate execution, effective internal controls, process standardization and continuous improvement. The role supports the Finance Operations Senior Manager and/or Finance Operations Manager in coordinating Accounts Payable (AP), Travel & Expense (T&E), Intercompany Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Lease Accounting and Finance Query Management. The incumbent is responsible for operational execution, issue resolution, stakeholder support, team coordination and achievement of agreed service level commitments within a shared services environment.
Support the day‑to‑day operations of Finance Operations activities and coordinate team execution. Ensure all processes are executed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitor operational performance, productivity, service quality and customer satisfaction. Track service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), escalating risks and gaps as required. Support operational governance, issue resolution and escalation management. Coordinate Oracle master data maintenance activities, ensuring timely, accurate and controlled updates to supplier, customer, employee and finance‑related master data.
Support AP activities, including invoice receipt, validation, processing, payment support and vendor account maintenance. Ensure timely processing of invoices and supplier payments. Coordinate payment runs and support exception management in line with approved controls. Monitor AP aging, blocked invoices and overdue payments. Partner with Procurement and Business Units to resolve invoice matching and payment issues. Ensure compliance with tax, procurement and financial control requirements.
Support expense claims processing and employee reimbursement activities. Ensure compliance with corporate travel and expense policies. Support corporate credit card administration and reconciliations. Monitor expense claim turnaround times and policy exception rates. Drive employee awareness and policy adherence.
Support monthly and quarterly intercompany reconciliation and settlement activities. Ensure timely confirmation and resolution of intercompany mismatches. Coordinate with finance teams to clear aged intercompany balances and resolve open items. Support intercompany agreement governance and transfer pricing requirements. Ensure accurate reporting and elimination support during close activities.
Support asset capitalization, transfers, disposals and depreciation activities. Ensure integrity and completeness of fixed asset registers. Coordinate periodic asset verification exercises. Support capital expenditure governance and reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Support lease accounting activities in accordance with IFRS 16 / MFRS 16 requirements. Maintain lease schedules and accounting records. Ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data. Review lease modifications and reassessments. Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end reporting requirements.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned bank accounts. Match bank statement transactions against general ledger records. Investigate, analyze, and resolve reconciliation differences and outstanding items promptly. Follow up with internal stakeholders and banks to clear unreconciled transactions. Ensure reconciliation activities comply with established SOPs and internal controls.
Maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties. Ensure readiness for internal and external audits. Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Support SOX/internal control testing where applicable.
Support automation, standardization and process simplification initiatives. Leverage ERP systems, workflow tools and digital solutions to improve efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis of operational issues and implement corrective actions. Support migration, transitions and process transformation projects as assigned.
Coordinate, guide and support finance operations team members in daily execution. Support a collaborative, service‑oriented and customer‑focused team culture. Provide input to performance discussions, coaching and development planning. Support cross‑training, knowledge sharing and capability building across finance operations processes. Support resource planning and workload coordination to meet service commitments.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Experience Experience in finance operations, transactional finance processes and service delivery within a shared services or high-volume operations environment, with 5–7 years of relevant finance operations experience.
Experience in team coordination, work allocation and operational performance support within a finance operations or shared services environment, with prior supervisory exposure preferred.
Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle, Coupa, Workday, OneStream or equivalent
Strong service delivery mindset with accountability for supporting SLA achievement, stakeholder outcomes and operational excellence. Strong understanding of finance operations controls, audit readiness, segregation of duties and compliance requirements. Ability to support cross‑functional issue resolution across Finance, Procurement, Business Units and global finance teams. Comfortable working in a shared services environment with high transaction volumes and multiple stakeholder groups. Strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, coordination and change support skills. Ability to support continuous improvement, standardization, automation and knowledge management initiatives.
Finance Operations services are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed SLAs, KPIs and service quality expectations. AP, T&E, Intercompany, Fixed Asset, Lease Accounting and Finance Query Management processes operate with strong controls and timely issue resolution. Stakeholder inquiries, operational escalations, aged items and exceptions are proactively managed and resolved within agreed timelines. Internal controls, audit requirements, accounting standards and policy compliance are consistently embedded in daily operations. Oracle master data maintenance is performed accurately, timely and in compliance with approved controls, governance and documentation requirements. Continuous improvement, standardization and automation initiatives deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality and stakeholder experience. Finance Operations team members are effectively supported and coordinated to meet business priorities and service commitments.
