Job Purpose

Formulate and drive the overall new ventures strategy for geographical/segmental expansion, strategic objectives and priorities including deal origination, strategic investments, corporate exercises as well as implement business operationalization initiatives to ensure company and business performance achieve the financial targets and the company's strategy.

New Ventures Strategy & Planning

• Assist in formulating and driving the overall new ventures strategy and alignment of business strategies and plans
• Planning, monitoring and escalation, and issue resolution for strategic and tactical action plans to ensure key value drivers and key result areas support the business goals over the short and long-term
• Drive potential strategic expansion of business avenues and new source of revenue outside current core business which include but not limited to overseas expansion and ventures into new businesses to broaden company earnings base
• Lead and perform market research, studies and maintain business intelligence database for oversea projects and vertical supply chain business opportunities
• Perform competitors benchmarking. Lead and analyse the performance-benchmark reporting against the industry, the trend, competitive threats, investment regulations, business risks, financial returns and forecasting

Deal Origination and Investment

• Assist in managing origination activities, including identification and evaluation of potential acquisition or divestment opportunities.
• Assist in managing M&A / Joint Ventures / Strategic Partnerships opportunities to deliver inorganic growth for SD Prop
• Responsible for building and/or reviewing financial models and financial analysis, including overseeing the implementation of best practices.
• Work closely with business divisions on the evaluation and execution of investment opportunities, including valuation and financial modelling, financial due diligence, investment structuring and drafting of commercial terms to support business divisions' tactical plans
• Assist in the execution of equity / fund-raising exercises to improve capital allocation and optimise SD Prop's capital structure
• Manage the review and drafting of investment committee proposals, due diligence reports, investor presentations and research reports
• Assist on group capital structure, capital allocation, funding and return targets/parameters for new venture businesses

Education/ Professional Qualification & Professional Experience

• Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Real Estate/ Engineering/ Marketing/ BBA (International Business) or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of strategic planning, corporate finance / investments
• Experience in the real estate business is a plus
