Job summary

A manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia is seeking a qualified HSE Assistant to aid in implementing safety management systems and conducting workplace inspections. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Safety & Health or Engineering, possesses strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and ideally has experience in a production environment. Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Assist in implementing the HSE management system aligned with Corporate HSE , ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  2. Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk at work areas.
  3. Assist in investigation of incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, and ensure follow‑up on corrective actions.
  4. Support the HSE team with basic administrative tasks, such as updating checklists, logging audit findings, and organizing training records.
  5. Support monitoring of safety rules, signs, and housekeeping standards, reporting any deviations for corrective action.
  6. Assist and communicate with line operators and production staff to help identify and prevent potential hazards.
  7. Support HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
  8. To support for HSE improvement projects, such as organizing awareness campaigns or minor workplace safety enhancements.
  9. Support environmental initiatives such as waste management and sustainability programs.
  10. Promote positive safety culture among all factory personnel and contractors.
  11. Perform other safety‑related duties as assigned by the HSE Officer or Management.
JOB REQUIREMENT
  1. Minimum Diploma in Safety & Health, Engineering or related field.
  2. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment and additional safety‑related certifications are an advantage.
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  4. Applicants with knowledge in ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Management system certifications will be an added advantage.
  5. Basic understanding of occupational safety practices and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EQA).
  6. Able to work independently and as part of the team.
  7. Good observation skills, with attention to detail and strong reporting skills.
  8. Willing to be hands‑on and present on the production floor daily.
