Job Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's goals.
- Ensure smooth execution of projects and daily operations to maximize efficiency.
- Establish short-term and long-term objectives and goals for the operations team.
- Analyze market trends, competitors, and regulatory requirements to ensure operations are adaptable
2. Team Management and Development
- Lead and manage the operations team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Establish a clear organizational structure with defined roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage employee engagement and development.
- Implement processes to monitor team productivity and address performance issues.
3. Process Optimization and Efficiency
- Evaluate existing processes and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure products and services meet company standards.
- Implement cost-control strategies to reduce operational expenses without compromising quality.
4. Financial Management and Budgeting
- Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenses and make recommendations for financial improvements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and financial health
5. Project Management
- Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Address operational challenges and find effective solutions to project-related issues.
6. Supply Chain and Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and maintain supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
7. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Regularly review safety protocols and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety standards
8. Geographical Focus
- The role may involve managing operations across multiple locations or regions, requiring a strong understanding of local business practices, regulatory requirements, and cultural considerations.
- Stakeholder Management: Close interaction with senior management, clients, and external partners is often needed to drive the companys objectives forward.
- Operational Scaling: Depending on the companys growth stage, responsibilities may include scaling operations and implementing systems to support rapid expansion.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5-10 years of relevant experience, with a track record of success in senior operational roles.
- Skills: Leadership, financial acumen, project management, process optimization, problem-solving, and strong communication abilities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, Malaysian regulations, and business practices.
