At VIVA BESTARI INN SDN BHD, we are committed to driving operational excellence and sustainable growth. We are currently seeking an analytical and proactive Assistant Finance Manager to join our dynamic finance team and support the company’s strategic objectives.

As the Assistant Finance Manager, you will work closely with the local management team to provide critical financial insights and data‑driven analysis. You will support strategic decision‑making by forecasting future performance, managing budgets, conducting scenario modeling, and monitoring key financial metrics. Your role is essential in optimizing profitability and ensuring the long‑term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Finance Daily Operation, Closing and Reporting
  • Assure timely and accurate financial closing and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and business policy.
  • Compile timely and accurate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Examine trends, variations, and profitability to give management advice and insights.
  • Ensure all accounts—bank, supplier, and intercompany balances—are properly reconciled.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
  • Oversee the yearly budget planning process and keep an eye on performance relative to the budget.
  • Develop cash‑flow forecasts, monitor liquidity, and efficiently manage working capital.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify potential savings and efficiency gains.
  • Support managerial choices and corporate plans with financial analysis.
Inventory Management
  • Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation processes, and control mechanisms to maintain data integrity and reduce discrepancies.
Performance Monitoring
  • Track key financial and operational performance indicators and provide actionable insights.
Taxation & Compliance
  • Ensure timely submission of SST, tax filings, and other statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and government authorities (LHDN, KWSP, SOCSO, HRDC).
  • Implement and maintain strong internal control policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Strategic Planning
  • Support long‑term financial planning and risk assessment initiatives.
Team Management
  • Supervise and develop junior finance team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Operations, Human Resources) to ensure proper financial coordination and reporting.
  • Report directly to the Managing Director on financial status and business performance.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of working experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong technical knowledge in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and cash‑flow management.
  • Experience in hospitality industry is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in accounting software (SQL / AutoCount) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Meticulous, analytical, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
