The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, improving internal controls, and supporting business decisions through financial analysis. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance, strengthening cash flow management, and supporting the company’s growth in the trading and distribution sector.

What you'll be doing
Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure timely month-end closing and accurate financial records.
  • Review journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, audit requirements, and internal financial policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist with annual budget planning and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual vs. budget performance and prepare variance analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
  • Oversee daily cash flow, fund allocation, and banking transactions.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, credit terms, and collection performance.
  • Manage supplier payments, credit limits, and financial risk exposure.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Strengthen internal controls to reduce financial risk and prevent irregularities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (SST, corporate tax).
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
Operations & Inventory Finance Support
  • Work closely with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to manage stock costing, purchasing terms, and inventory accuracy.
  • Analyse cost of goods sold (COGS), pricing structures, and margin performance.
  • Support financial evaluation of new products, suppliers, and trading opportunities.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in trading, distribution, FMCG, or wholesale industries.
  • Experience in pre-IPO exercises will be an added advantage.
