We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accounts Manager to join our team, overseeing financial operations across Malaysia and Singapore. This role combines hands‑on accounting expertise with strategic management responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient management of banking and accounting processes. Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations across Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring compliance with regional regulations and company policies.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of timely and accurate financial statements, including consolidated financial statements for the company.
- Execute monthly account closings with precision, ensuring deadlines are met consistently.
- Prepare consolidated accounts for headquarters and subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and company secretaries to ensure compliance and streamline audit processes.
- Prepare and review monthly journal vouchers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Review and approve bank payment vouchers using the Globe 3 system, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Verify purchase invoices, debit notes, and credit notes for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee and approve petty cash claims, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policies.
- Update and analyze the Cash Flow Forecast Report weekly to support cash flow management and strategic decision‑making.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and finalize payment plans, aligning with company objectives.
- Coordinate and manage annual stock‑taking activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate applications for Letters of Credit (LC), Trust Receipts (TR), Banker’s Acceptances (BA), and Bank Guarantees (BG), ensuring timely submission.
- Manage bank facilities, including LC, TR, BA, and BG, and prepare detailed reports for senior management review.
- Handle inquiries from bankers professionally, fostering strong banking relationships.
- Maintain and organize documentation for bank facilities and loans, ensuring accessibility and compliance.
- Develop and prioritize LC and TR plans in consultation with senior management to optimize financial operations.
- Monitor and update daily outstanding loans, including fixed loans, hire‑purchase loans, and TR/BA dues, providing insights to the Management.
- Oversee and arrange the renewal of company insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and cost‑efficiency.
- Supervise payment uploads prepared by assistants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Lead and mentor a small team of accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing work environment.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
- Monitor team performance, set objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Management to develop financial strategies and budgets, contributing to long‑term business planning.
- Oversee training and development of team members to build technical and leadership capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, driving a culture of accountability and transparency.
- Perform ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by senior management, contributing to strategic initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- At least Diploma or equivalent level in Finance and Accounting field.
- At least 3 years of working experience in the related field.
- Mandarin speaker is preferred for this position.
