Job summary

TechnipFMC plc in Malaysia is seeking a capable mechanical assembler to join our oilfield equipment team. You will assemble and test mechanical subassemblies according to TechnipFMC specifications, document results, and ensure conformance to quality standards.

The role requires reading technical drawings, operating pumps and lifting gear, and collaborating with colleagues to resolve issues. A 3–4 year mechanical background and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of mechanical experience.
• SPM/certificate qualification or equivalent preferred.
• Good mathematics and ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient with PC use and basic software.
• Experience with pumps, cranes, wrenches, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test mechanical assemblies per TechnipFMC specs.
• Document test results and NCRs as required.
• Inspect finished assemblies and perform final checks.
• Prepare and follow test procedures for factory acceptance tests.
• Operate handling equipment and move components safely.
• Assist and guide junior team members as needed.

Job Purpose

Assembles and tests mechanical assemblies of moderate complexity, requiring some fitting and adjusting. Assist in providing assistance and guidance to juniors.

Job Description

Assembles and tests assemblies according to TechnipFMC specifications. Masters basic skills and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise

Completes required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).

Resolves routine questions and problems in mastered subassemblies. Refers more complex issues to higher levels.

Conduct final factory inspection of oilfield equipment.

Prepare test procedures before and after factory acceptance testing.

Cleans up components after assembly according to FMC specifications and verbal or written instructions.

Inputs labor details into Labor Tracking System (LTS) for cost tracking purposes.

Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components and subassemblies from one work or storage area to another as required.

Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area.

Require to assists others during assembly of components in area of expertise. Teaches other assemblers proper techniques and procedures for mastered key subassemblies.

Ensure that every work activity carry out comply towards company HSES rules which as below or whichever higher and prevail; a. Other requirement which prescript according to project / client/ contractor onsite/ external requirement that in service of the tenure the project.

You are meant for this job if:

• At least 3-4 years relevant working experience in a mechanical role.
• Preferably SPM/certificate qualification and above or equivalent.
• Clear understanding of general mathematics with ability to write and communicate in English.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Ability to use personal computer or workstation.
• Ability to operate high and low pressure pumps, hydrostatic pumps, high torque wrenches, overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, and rigging.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, calipers and pressure gauges.
