Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Asian Malay Chef to lead the kitchen in our modern casual dining restaurant serving local Asian and Malay favorites in a contemporary setting. You'll bring traditional flavors to life with a creative touch and ensure consistent quality in a relaxed yet vibrant dining environment.

Key Task

Prepare and present a wide range of classic and modern Malay dishes, including but not limited to:

Requirements

At least 3-5 years in a senior kitchen role, preferably with multi-outlet or high-volume experience.

Working Experience
  1. Ensure dishes are cooked consistently and beautifully presented, matching the brand's casual yet high-quality identity.
  2. Collaborate with the management and service team on seasonal menus, daily specials and promotions.
  3. Monitor kitchen operations and supervise all food preparation activities.
  4. Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with health regulations.
  5. Manage inventory, stock rotation, and coordinate ingredient purchasing.
  6. Train and guide junior cooks and kitchen helpers.
  7. Maintain food cost control and reduce wastage.
Skills Required
  1. Strong knowledge of local spices, sambal variations, traditional preparation methods, and modern plating.
  2. Experience in handling fast-paced service while maintaining consistency.
  3. Team player with good leadership and kitchen coordination skills.
  4. Understanding of food cost, kitchen SOPs, and inventory control.
  5. Familiarity with Halal food preparation.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams.
  7. Creative Input on fusion or contemporary twists to traditional Malay dishes.
