A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Site Architect to oversee projects from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Architecture, LAM Part III qualification, and at least 5 years of experience managing architectural design and submissions. Strong skills in coordination, communication, and design software are essential. As the Site Architect, you will be a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our projects in Malaysia. You will be deeply involved in the entire process, from planning to construction, leveraging your expertise in local regulations, authority submission procedures, and coordination with various consultant teams. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the seamless progression of projects from design through to completion and handover. You will act as the crucial link between international/domestic design teams, local consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
Authority Submission & Approval:
Take full ownership of all authority submission processes for projects in Malaysia, including but not limited to submitting drawings and obtaining approvals from relevant departments such as DBKL, BOMBA, and the Town Planning Department.
Possess an in-depth understanding of Malaysian building codes, laws, regulations, and standard requirements.
Monitor submission progress, communicate effectively with various government departments, and resolve technical issues arising during the approval process.
Prepare and compile complete sets of submission documents, ensuring full compliance with local statutory requirements.
Design & Coordination:
Thoroughly comprehend project design concepts and integrate them with local regulations, constructability, and practical considerations.
Lead and coordinate the work of local consultant teams, including Structural, M&E, Civil, and Quantity Surveying (QS).
Chair interdisciplinary design coordination meetings to ensure seamless integration of information across all disciplines and resolve design conflicts.
Review drawings submitted by various consultants to ensure alignment with the design intent, local codes, and submission requirements.
Construction Support:
Conduct regular site visits to project sites, monitor the quality of architectural workshop drawings, and ensure they align with the Bill of Quantities (BQ).
Review construction methodologies and material samples submitted by contractors.
Provide support in resolving design-related issues that arise on‑site during construction.
Participate in regular technical department meetings, reporting project status to the Department Manager and Chief Engineer.
Essential Qualifications:
Degree in Architecture or a related field.
Must possess LAM Part III qualification, accredited by the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia).
Minimum of 5 years of architectural design and project management experience within Malaysia.
Comprehensive knowledge of the full building project submission process, with a proven track record of successfully leading projects from initial submission through to obtaining CCC (Certificate of Completion and Compliance).
Professional Knowledge & Skills:
Deep understanding of multidisciplinary design processes and exceptional coordination skills across disciplines (e.g., Structural, M&E).
High proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong technical detailing ability and substantial experience in construction drawing production.
Solid understanding of building codes, construction materials, methods, and cost control principles.

High sense of responsibility, initiative, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
