Role Overview:

The Application Specialist – Extrusion (APAC) plays a vital role in providing scientific and technical expertise for extrusion and mixing solutions across the Asia Pacific region. The position ensures effective customer engagement through demonstrations, testing, and technical training, while supporting regional sales and service teams to deliver high-value analytical solutions in plastics, polymer, and food applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hands-on sample testing and application support for regional subsidiaries and customers within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Plan and execute customer demonstrations, technical presentations, and both virtual and in-person training sessions in the APAC Technical Centre.
  • Lead and coordinate sales and application training programs to strengthen technical capabilities across regional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with global product specialists, service engineers, marketing, and sales to develop detailed application reports, case studies, and technical documentation.
  • Manage the daily operations and continuous development of the Regional Testing and Training Laboratory, ensuring the facility meets global quality and safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee technical events, workshops, and exhibitions, representing the company as a subject matter expert in extrusion and mixing technologies.
  • Provide on-site technical support during system installations, troubleshooting, and commissioning of complex equipment, ensuring seamless customer adoption.
  • Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of training materials, product manuals, and knowledge resources.
  • Support the overall sales process through application insights, demonstrations, and technical consultations that enhance customer satisfaction and solution adoption.
  • Participate in regional trade shows, technical conferences, and exhibitions to promote the company’s technology portfolio and strengthen market visibility.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Technology, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a laboratory or technical application environment, ideally within plastics, polymer, or food extrusion sectors.
  • Strong understanding of extrusion processes, machinery design, and process optimization parameters.
  • Solid knowledge of laboratory practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in English with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and customer-focused approach.
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to collaborate effectively across multicultural teams.
  • Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude with a willingness to travel approximately 25% within the APAC region.
